Wow the last month at Country Cousins has been a very busy one.
This month has seen both changes to our staff and some very extreme, changeable weather. The constant however, has been the students who continue to build on their English language skills, take part in organised activities and enjoy time spent with our wonderful host families.
To say that the weather over the past few weeks here in Ilfracombe, and across North Devon, has been changeable would be a slight understatement.
Our students have spent time experiencing beaches cloaked in fog and looking on in wonder at stunning sunsets.
After nearly 12 years we said farewell to our brilliant Welfare & Accommodation manager, Michelle. During her time at Country Cousins we have laughed, we have cried, we shared a red carpet, success and so much more. We would like to thank Michelle for all her hard work and wish her good luck as she moves onto the next chapter of her life.
With Michelle leaving this saw in a role change our School Secretary, Erica, as she moved into the Welfare & Accommodation position.
We also welcomed Sharon in as a new member of staff to act as the school secretary. We haven’t managed to get a picture of Sharon in the office yet as she was far too busy having tea with the Queen!
Our host families are a vital ingredient in ensuring that our students not only get to speak English in an everyday environment but, that they are fully immersed into the British way of life. Here in Ilfracombe we are fortunate that locally and across North Devon there are so many exciting, wonderful and beautiful places for our host families and their students to visit and explore.
